Elena is a young Asturian musician, choral and solo singer, choral leader and vocal and choral coach. Currently based in Asturias, northern Spain. Both, soprano and alto soloist she has sung in the choirs of Voces Blancas del Nalón Choral Proyect since 2010, under the artistic and musical leadership of the prize-winning choir conductor and Asturian musician, Oscar Allen.
As a singer, and due to her desire for vocal versatility, she has collaborated with artists, groups and projects of various and contrasting styles: Quilombo Bacano (indie), Femme Fetén (vocal a capella and jazz), Cellos Group Nalón’s Conservatory (Asturian traditional singing), A lifeStoy (Short film soundtrack), among others. She performs since 2010 as well, at international festivals and competitions with Voces Blancas choirs (both as choral singer and as choral leader). She is continuously seeking to widen her knowledge and experience with different vocal singing styles, vocal health and technique.
She became choral conductor and musical director of Luzcoræ and three Voces Blancas del Nalón Primary school children’s choirs in 2015/2016, leading them in to musically successful and rewarding performances. Also, she runs since 2017, three pop choirs for people with out any previous experience in choral music at Sonidopolis Pop and Rock music School, Gijón. Every autumn since 2014 she runs fun and inspirational choral workshops at Primary Schools and high schools of the Valle del Nalón area, focused on kids and teenagers without choral experience.
Due to the way she understands choral and solo singing, she is capable of transmiting her passion for music to the people – of any age- she works with; making the kids, teenagers and adults to engage with the intrinsic power and happiness of this musical discipline.
Undergraduate from University of Oviedo, she develops her choral conducting education with the Association of British Choral Directors (ABCD). During this academic year 2020/2021 she is pursuing the Masters in Music, Choral Conducting pathway at the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom).
